OK guys, I have the fender tag cleaned and painted body color, could someone tell me just how it is placed on the fender. I think it goes on the driver side by the battery but does the letters go where you read them looking into the engine bay or from the engine bay outwards. Or do you read it from the front of the car. Please send a pic so I dont screw it up. Speaking of screws, do you screw it on or rivet it on. this one had small screws but I would think rivets would be more permanent. Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks,Bill

That is a good quesation I cannot answer teh first part never really looked at it but I do knwo that as far as securing it to the fender it all depends on the year most of the earlier ones were screwed on

Mine is screwed on and you can read it facing the fender from the drivers side. (73-74 Dart)

If you are standing at the left front tire and looking at the engine, you should be able to look down on the driver side inner fender and see this....

Most cars are like what yellowdartdave posted. Depending on year, model, and plant, some are riveted on and in slightly different locations.

The fender tag is screwed on. The factory screwed it on with one screw, and bent the tag up, and then painted the engine bay/car. After the car dried, they bent the tag back down, and put in the second screw. So if you wanted to do it factory correct, one screw would be body color, the other bare.

Ps: look at yellowdartdaves tag. Notice how there is a crease in the top left corner ?
That's where they bent it up, and that screw would be body color.

I wonder why the paint doesn't match.....and the right screw is bigger than the left....

I don't no the history of his car, so I have no idea about the paint/tag.

The left screw is correct, the right is not.
