I went out to the garage the other day and was greeted with a trail of coolant from under the car. Damn radiator finally let go. I also found someone on Craigslist with an aluminum radiator for sale in my neighborhood.

Here we go.... :toothy10:

BTW: That $150 fan shroud from Mancini's cracked already! Cheap #$% ing piece of $#@%!!!!!!!! :angry7:

Last radiater repair cost me 85 bucks. I should have asked for an estimate to avoid sticker shock.A new one is a better plan.
I share your aftermarket shroud pain too. One of cheap material melted into the fan. One of fiberglass warped bad out of the box. Bolts drawed it down in place. I took it back out and sold/gave it away on ebay before it cracked.

Sorry To Here Your Having Issues.i Replaced Heater Core Then 2 Frost Plugs Then Rad Was Plugged(replaced That)and New Clutch Fan.the Guy I Bought The Car From Had Been Driving Around At 220 Degrees.i,m Pretty Sure He Had Stop Leak In It Also Really Old Antifreeze.we,ve All Had Our Share And It,s Fun Fixxn Them.ya!!

The fan shroud has me really cranked-off.... Bad enough I'll have to fabricate a new one for the aluminum radiator, but I can't even sell the old one!!!!!!!!!!

<Damn-it!> :angry7:

My car did not have a fan shroud when I bought it. It had a 273, stock 2 core radiator. Now the car has a 360, bored .030, 3650 CFM electric fan, with the same 2 core radiator! I have no over heating problems. But I guess I should mention that I leave the fan on all of the time and it cuts off once the temperature is 170*. I don't know if that has anything to do with it staying as cool as it does but I thought I would mention my set up maybe you might want to go that route. I will eventually go with a larger core 2 core radiator or a 3 core just to be on the safe side.

John, do you have a picture of the shroud?

an Electric Fan is the only way to go. i have one and it is thermostatic controled.i have a hard time geting it over 180 degrees.

Shroud. I just replaced my Rad yesterday in the duster. The tank split in half and I just couldn't stand to band aid it one more time. I did have a shroud around here someplace....

I have an electric fan on my Duster now. It's a perma cool. It came with everything to bolt in and go. Temp switch is adjustable.
