Hello Gang,

I have an interesting (but possibly dumb) question for everyone on the boards. I was thinking, If Chrysler ever started a new division (Think Retro-Chrysler) that would release in limited quantities some of the popular cars that went into production over the years. What cars would you like to see redone and would you like to see them redone as they were originally produced or would you bring the car up to modern standards (airbags, ABS etc) keeping the same body style as produced as opposed to a modern design. I know that there are alot of old classics like mine, but, if you could get the same "classic" as a brand new model would anyone consider purchasing the new version? I know I would :) I'd like to hear everyone's input on this. Thanks again!

Brian

id like to see a 70's Cuda or Chall. come back, but id like to see them come back like the new mustang did,a new retro body style, its about time mopar gets back into the teen muscle cars!

I really don't like the bumperettes or whatever there called, so it would have to be 72 style or older. I really like the fastback cuda's, 68,69 chargers, 68 to 72 darts, dusters and my favorite, Demons. The biggest problem I see to bringing back the older styles is meeting the modern mileage standards with the weight of some of these cars.

Of couse I would like to see the first Gen. of the Barracuda. But if they were to do it, the obvious choice would be the "E" bodies. It seems they would have learned from the release of the PT Cruiser and the Prowler, that anything with a retro look would sell very well.

Wow.... now THERE'S food for thought! Let's see.... 5.7 litre Hemi with a Tremec 6 speed, independant suspension at all 4 corners, 4 wheel disc brakes w/ ABS, air bags & 3-point tensioner style seat belts, A/C, cruise, and a kick-*** 10 speaker 300w CD/FM/MP3 player. And of course, don't forget the key-less entry system, digital anti-theft system, Xenon HID lighting, LED taillights, and today's corrosion protection.

All wrapped up in a..... well, what the hell do you THINK I'm gonna say?
A `68 Barracuda Fastback! :thumleft:

Like there's a choice?

Great question! Let the mental masturbation begin! :tongue10:

Probably the best seller would be the 71 cuda with the new Hemi. Bring back the pistol grip and shaker. Then do a limited AAR version. I would put my order in right now for the AAR.

I guess i'm alone here but i don't see the big deal with E-bodies,don't get me wrong they are nice cars but i just don't get it!
I know they been getting crazy money lately but i think that just takes the fun out of this hobby, the average working guy that these cars were originally built for can't afford them anymore!
Personally i would rather have a nice Dart or Duster over a Cuda.

That's just my opinion i could be wrong! :?
Sorry Gossame didn't mean to hijack your thread. :)

I agree totally with ES on this too. In my bizarre opinion a `70-74 E body is just as overplayed as a `69 Camaro. As a matter of fact, ask any E body owner how many times someone will call their `Cuda a Camaro....

Money follows trends.... Trends cost money. I just pray to God that semi-modified `68 Barracuda's don't go through the roof.... [-o<]They're expensive enough already!

Anybody hear any rumors about the charger coming out for the 2005 nascar season?
Supposedly it had to be approved by nascar back July to be able to run next season.Read that on moparts.

Come on Fastback it's only money!

It is not rumour anymore on the Charger R/T. The announcement has been made that they are in fact going to go into production. Here is some insider info.... I know person who works in the plant where they are going to make them. He says there are six prototypes already made that are inside the plant. He has personally seen them. On the weekend I had mentioned that it would be awesome if they could squeeze the new 6.1 425 Hp hemi into one of those. He smiled and said... "they are working on it right now !!!!! "

The cars will be available in six different colors...most of the colors will be 1969-1971 impact colors. When I hear more...you will hear more...

Oh yeaaa baby...where do I sign up !!!

its is true I read it in a road and track. Standard will be a V6 but they are working on option with the 5.7 hemi. This will happen it looks OK a little boxy for my taste but its nice. Is the new Hemi they are working on is that a 6.1 or a 6.2 and how are they getting that. Is Chrysler finaly bringing back a BB or is this just a big SB?? I still havent seen anything on this new engine just wondering what you guys have heard.

Yes its true, car an driver has a article on it,looks like a new 300C with a diff grill an rear end, standard is V6 options will be the 5.7 hemi iv also heard that the new 6.1 hemi will be in affect some time after they hit the street, also i watch Totally nascar an they said 05 will replace the intrps.i dont know if the new 6.1 is a big block or a big SB,but u can bet that the Charger will be the fastest Dodge they make aside the viper,i mean in the day that was there muscle car the fastest they has,an now i hope its going to live up to that!im on the list for the 6.1 when it comes out
