I've owned the DirtSpot, so named when in my twenties, I left my 73 Dart Sport parked at my folks house for several months, because there was only parking for two cars per apartment where my girl friend and I lived, and I needed my pickup for work. After a few weeks stretched into months, and it was gathering a bit of grime, My Mom asked me when I was going to at least wash that damned dirt spot in her yard, and since then it has had the name.

The original 318, was replaced with a mildly built 360, set up with the j-heads, 9.5 cr, and an rv-cam from Isky. It's running a wide ratio 833, and a 2.71 8.25 rear. Sucks off the line, but cruises effortlessly at 80. Which made a lot of sense at the time, because I was commuting 120-miles to work across the Nevada desert, and once the Troopers get to know you as a"local', they just sort of ignore you unless they see smoke coming off the tires.

Spot has been setting for about fifteen years now, just never had the time or money to get him running right. But I will soon be coming into some coin, so I'm getting ready to start a restification. I've been reading up on the new gen hemis, and just researching and trying to decide which direction I want to go.

I'll probably just lurk for the most part for now, and try to get back upto date on what is possible, before I make any hard choices. Long term goal for the car is to go run the Silver State with him. Spot is definitely a him, not much feminine about him, never was.

Welcome to FABO! That's a great story and I'm so glad you kept "him" around all these years. I don't have much knowledge when it comes to the Gen III swap, but I can see it being a great addition to run the Silver State. Good luck & again, Welcome!
