Hood for a 65 cuda

hey guys,

I havent started a restoration thread yet but i need to. basically, i pulled a gold 65 cuda out of a garage, covered in trash, furniture etc, and am doing a slow restoration. I have just finished the interior and am moving onto the body work. the front lip of the hood is pretty rusted/cracked underneath.

so, in the interest of making my search easier, what other mopars have hoods that are bolt on replacements for my 65 cuda? or, is it worth trying to fix? I wouldnt mind having a little hood scoop either as i want a nice aggressive look. i can always fab something so suggest away

'64-5 Barracuda and '65 Valiant use the same hood. None of them have a factory scoop. If it's going to be modified anyway with a scoop, I'd fix the hood you have unless the rust is real bad. No point in cutting up a nice original.

yeah, i dont want to cut up a nice oem either, no worries. if im going to fab a hood scoop ill pick up a junker hood and practice on it first. if it doesnt work ill just try and fix up mine. so no other models use the same hood dimensions?

I have a good hood for sale if your travels bring you near Detroit. I am between Detroit and Toledo Ohio.

if u want to go crazy on the looks u know a 63 to 66 val cilp will go right on and so will a 63 to 66 dodge dart

'64 Valiant has a different hood than a '64-5 Barracuda. As dart doctor mentioned, all the '63-6 A-body front ends will swap as a complete assembly. As a bolt-on hood it's only '64-5 Barracuda and '65 Valiant. Now if you want to do some modifying, all the '63-6 A-body hoods are the same at the cowl and most of the way forward on each side until you get toward the front of the fender. It's across the front and the latch design that is totally different on the other models.
