hood pins

When using hood pins, do you remove the hood latch or are the pins just for looks?

I have a 'glass hood so my pins are holding my hood on. If you are using them on a steel hood you'll have to make sure they are adjusted right so you can get the pins out when the hood pops from the release.

Or you can pull the pins first then pop the hood release.

I'm using a glass hood and use both the latch and the pins. That puppy ain't going no where.

i have the stock latch and the pins on my car.. guess they are more for looks on mine.. i have a metal hood though.

Are the pins on your car factory? I was curious to see pics of where they go I have been contemplating putting a set on my 69 Dart.

no my car didn't come with them but they are in the factory location.. there were predrilled holes where they go. real easy install.

Don't mean to hi-jack this thread, just wondered where the two of you that have pictures of your rides with the fiberglass hoods got them? Are you happy with the fit or did you have to work it quite a bit, I assume they are 6 pak hoods? I would like to get one for my 70 Duster one of these days.
