Just received the AAR Hemi Dart hood scoop for the Valiant today from an FABO member. Thank You. :love4: I am wondering where/how to properly center the scoop in between the front and back of the hood. This thing is huge...5" tall. I will have to change the emblems from 360 to 340-fourbarrel though :) Here are a couple of pics with the scoop on the hood where I think it might go. Looks like it could be moved back a couple of inches? :dontknow:

If anyone has this scoop on their early a-body I would love to see some pictures. Any instructions would be great on how to position this thing. Thanks.

The best way to figure it out would be with the hood on the car, then you can see just how it will look. Its all personal preferance with something like that.

The scoop will be functional? I just used the air cleaner stud to mark the location of my carb and then cut the hole with that as a reference. The engine is offset to the right about 2 inches, so you can center the scoop on the hood and cover the offset air cleaner hole if the scoop is big enough. Sorry, no pics, I don't have time and/or patience to deal with posting pics. Too busy with working on the car, etc.

if you go to saultracers.com and look under drivers profiles and look for janice atkins you will see my mom's 66 valiant with the hemi scoop.

Yes it will be a functional hood when in use. NO worries on the pictures. Any info is helpful.

Thanks James that helps out a bunch. Sweet looking Canadian Valiant. What does your Mom have in that thing? Ets?

I loved this picture with the kid covering his ears. Hilarious. Open Headers I guess? I can't wait to wake up the crabby old hag next door to me once I get my engine installed

Oh and welcome to FABO. I see that this was your 3rd post.

Wow, can you post some more pictures? I would love to see the engine compartment, and what that 440 looks like in there. Any more specs?

Very cool!

Thank you!
