Hooker Fenderwell Headers issue

-
So many want their cars to handle now, with big tires and more, & not all have J-bars or any additional structure, so do yours how you like, I'm just pointing it out for those that might want their chassis to work better.
Anyone have any strain gauges they could apply on the proper spot?
The OP is building a drag car. Header fitment is what the thread is about.
you might want to go get yourself a strain gauge.

Sorry, I did not see the OP about the use of the car.
I agree if it's full drag why not fenderwells, they're definitely more horsepower. Old school mods were always less pretty & race cars have come a long way in the quality department & you're right J bars add plenty of strength.
Seems most people on here understand that many on here are still learning, and that's the reason I joined, to learn & maybe pass on a little of the knowledge from my wee bit of experience over 50+ years.
Your responses seem to infer, you no longer have anything to learn.

No sir, i have plenty to learn. I just don't believe the hype of the loss of strength the holes make.
Like I've mentioned a few times I've never seen a car with fenderwell headers messed up from it with or without j bars.

I have a set of these headers on my 68 dart with a 505. I have had them on the car for about 15 years now. I just checked if they had a part # and they don't. It has a tag on the #1 cyl tube that identifies it as a super competition header. It is a 2" tube header. I have about a quarter inch clearance from the shock tower on the passenger side. I have had both B and RB engines in the car and the headers fit both engines ok. I like these headers and have had no problem with them. They are easy and quick to get on and off the car.

Hi Everyone; Just an update. The Hooker Fenderwells I bought ARE the right ones for my car. I just had to loosen the motor mounts, raise the engine up about 2 inches, and bolt them on. I had to shave the top corners of my shock towers the give myself a little gap between the headers and towers. I also had to cut the braces out to my rocker panels a little bit. They are finally in the way I want them. Thanks again for all your help.

Heck and I thought you tried lifting the engine, that's the first thing you do with any fenderwell header.
I'm glad you got it sorted out, looks good.
