Horrible MPG/Fuel odor troubleshoot

So what's the inside of the tail pipes look like? (black and sooty?)

And does the car have places where the exhaust can come up from the back, like a trunk seal or body plugs (or other holes?)

A little black in there I'd say wouldn't you?

Car is plugged up pretty good, must be something in the carb dumping too much fuel. I guess this carb was set up for the original M1 single plane intake.

Is this your original carb. ? If not, put the other one back on and find out what the summit carb. is all about.

You need to answer some of these questions. These guys are trying to help you.

That's not in the set up. That's pig-rich, and indicates a serious mechanical problem, or the choke is on.
