A friend of mine sent the following to me today by email:

I was a little confused when I heard the word "Service" used with these agencies:

Internal Revenue 'Service'
US Postal 'Service'
Telephone 'Service'
Cable TV 'Service'
Civil 'Service'
State, City, County & Public 'Service'
Customer 'Service'

This was not what I thought 'Service' meant.

But today I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to 'Service' a few cows.

BAM!!! It all came into focus. Now I understand what all those Agencies are doing.

I hope you are now just as enlightened as I am.

Unfortunately, this is pretty true...and not funny

I have to admit, LOL, that when I was fairly young, and we got our first milk cow, (part of the deal was she would "have a baby,") so the first beef grew up some and became burgers 'n roasts'n things, so now it was time to...............

"try again..............."

And I can still remember the discussion with one of the neighbors, and I just--couldn't--quite-figure what this all meant, LOL
