Hello all, I'm working on a 8 3/4 rearend with a 741 case. Removing the open 2.76 and adding 3.23 w/truetrac. The yoke being removed was 29 spline and the 3.23 gears need a 10 spline. I'm trying to determine how many options are feasible; what I mean is this, what appears to be out there are the 7290 or 1350 U-bolt Pinion yokes. Am I missing any or are these the only 2 sizes out there?

There are 2 stock sizes I know of the 7260 and the 7290 both available with a 10 spline. I have an extra 7260 small u joint 10 spline yolk. PM me if interested. You can get other sizes from the aftermarket also just depends on what you need.

Just check the distance difference (if there is any) from the 23 spline to the 10 spline . Also , check u-joint sizes . There is a cross u-joint from one to the other if they are different

From the factory every A-body I've seen took the small 7260 yoke. You can measure the u-joint on your driveshaft and determine what yorus is for sure. If I remember right a 7260 u-joint is 3-1/8" wide and the 7290 is 3-5/8" wide. The 1350 is the common aftermarket piece for high horsepower applications.

I do not know if there is a U bolt available in that size. any parts gurus know? I drilled thru a 7260 rear yoke years ago for the moroso stronger thick aluminum cap with thru bolts and nuts, but they hit the driveshaft when dumping the clutch with slicks. went back to the stock 7260 setup, with everything good and tight, no problems running 11 seconds and street, for 35 years. **** breaks when not tight. I guess your driveshaft is 7260, and you need a new pinion yoke, getting a 7290 yoke and a 7260/7290 u joint is another option

I have a 10 spline pinion yoke from a 741 w/ straps you can have for the cost of shipping if that is what you are looking for. It is a 7260. I replaced it with a Mancini billet yoke with u bolts.

7260 & 7290. I drill thru them and use harden allen bolts with lock nuts.

7260 with moroso u joint girdles & a 1330.
The bolt holes are the same distance apart on the 2 yokes. Although the 1330 is a slightly larger yoke than me 7260.

Dr. Diff has a conversion kit for the 7260 yoke to a 7290. It's a new u joint and yoke either 10 or 29 spline.

I haven't seen them for a 7260 either and I also tried the Moroso girdle system on a 7260 and it hit the driveshaft like yours. Went back to the stock straps and no problems at all running 12 O's for last 7 yrs
