I got another sure grip, and now that i know the difference, i got a clutch type this time.....I want to take it apart and look at the clutches to make sure they are good, but how do you tell the useful life left in them?

I think i may want to just replace them anyway, since they are only 60 bucks....

also....is there not any preload in the clutch type?? no springs or anything??

ok...figured it out....they are preloaded by the discs themselves....arched, with flat outer pieces, so when you tighten the bolts, they act like diaphragm springs....

as far as the clutch life, they appear to be ok, but there is some scoring on a couple of them.

like i said, i'll just go ahead and get new clutches....BUT

at Mancini, it lists thin and thick clutches....what's the difference
(i have 3 eared and 2 splined pieces per side now)
