How will it perform?

Well let's do a simple comparison. You have much better heads than my 408 (TrickFlow vs my Eddy RPM), more cam and a roller to boot (my SFT 251/255 @ 050/~.560 lift), more compression (12.5 vs my 10.5), more carb (my 850 DP), more stall speed (5800 to my 5000), and I suspect about 400#'s lighter than me. We both have split mono CalTracs, Calvert 9-ways in the back and 4.10 gears. I run a 28/10.5W bias slick. My car runs low/mid 11.teens at 118 so you ought to be in the low 10's at least. Can't wait to hear what you get out of it!!

He should be making close to 600 HP, I would hope after it's all sorted out it be in high 9's
at 3000#'s with driver should be MP ing at about a buck 30.
I didn't see six hundred horsepower but who knows just my guess..

You’ve never seen 600hp.
I Will throw my hat in the ring, I can see this combo being right at 570-580. That’s if it has a true 12:1. and in a 3000# car with sorted out suspension I can’t imagine it not going deep in to the 10s. Maybe 10.20-10.30.

He has but with 3 cars making a combined 600

My 410 (AKA the slowest stroker on the internet..)
11.5 to one... factory 596 smog heads.. with 2.02 intake valves.. 603 lift 264 @50 solid... dual quad tunal ram with a Edelbrock 1406 up front and a Carter performance on the back... 4 speed.... D60 with 410's... super stock leafs... 28" slicks... 3000lbs with me...
118-119 mph..
Mid 11's... but speed suggested high 10's were possible...

I said mid 10's possible... ...

I used to post on this part of the forum for years everyday, but it just seems to be there are too many people here that know too much about racing without a time slip....

I can't post a pic of my timeslips, they're 200 miles away. But I can post pics of my cars with dial-ins on the window. Will that work? (Both cars had somewhere around 400whp).

My guess ... off the trailer 10.40's. After it's all sorted, 10.0's.

My build is getting real close to being ready to test on the track. Any guesses on how much HP the engine will make? What about ET and MPH in the 1/4?

408
12.5 CR (flat tops with valve reliefs)
Trick Flow CNC Ported with titanium retainers (I don't have the flow numbers but they are available online)
Solid Roller Cam - 660 lift, 258/264 duration at .050 108 LCA
HS roller rockers (1.5's)
Thumper 950ish carb on a Victor 340 and HVH 1" spacer
Hedman Huster headers with 1 7/8" primaries and 3.5 collector

727
Reverse Manual Valvebody
5800 PTC non-lockup

9"
4.10 gears and spooled.

'73 Duster (3000# with me in it)
Caltracs
Calvert mono leafs
Calvert shocks front and rear
FirmFeel uppers and strut rods.

Thanks in advance.
Bill

Ok I knew I had this somewhere and I found it this morning. Here’s some flow testing I did with TrickFlow heads and a stock and ported Victor340. This shows what the restriction will be. Now to be far this intake was tested on and underperforming port one my TrickFlow heads. The drop you see at the upper lifts is caused by the head, not the intake. I have since fixed this and it flows back around 300 where it should.

Looks like you've probably got you a 9.90 car once you get everything situated I'm sure low 10.0's on the first pass..congrats looks like all the quality stuff that gets the other guys a little jealous...like me..lmao..best of luck and will be following...I would love to see it go against your super stocker later...

Camshaft manufacturer? Cam card?

It might like more spacer, hard to call. So you have more to test with?
Header size is good IMO. Did you maintain the exhaust pipe at 3.5?

Have you run the car with this set up since the change?
Comp cams.

1” spacer is what Dom recommended. If it wants more, I have a 2” spacer I can throw on

Yes, 3.5” collector, open headers

New build, never run.

I’ve been racing off and on for a long time and have quite a few 9 sec time slips. First old school Mopar build for me though.

Should run good.
I think the converter ( if it truly flashes 5800) will be an issue, cam is small but isn’t going to be an issue.
Mine is 350 pounds heavier and has a much shorter lift flat tappet, has been 10.40’s first time out with it in its current form.
Yours should run 10.0’s right out of the gate.
I am still not sold on those heads, if yours runs like it should, that will definitely change my mind.
Gonna say 10.50’s, good luck!!

I didn't doubt your racing experience, but I'll stand by my opinion and hopefully I'm wrong....
Good luck and looking forward to seeing your results... .....

I’ve been watching his times and weather over the past weeks and I saw 600 something feet altitude last weekend in July so I’m going out on a limb and going with a low 10 high 9 by his second trip out. Maybe sooner. Bill will be race ready.
