My build is getting real close to being ready to test on the track. Any guesses on how much HP the engine will make? What about ET and MPH in the 1/4?

408
12.5 CR (flat tops with valve reliefs)
Trick Flow CNC Ported with titanium retainers (I don't have the flow numbers but they are available online)
Solid Roller Cam - 660 lift, 258/264 duration at .050 108 LCA
HS roller rockers (1.5's)
Thumper 950ish carb on a Victor 340 and HVH 1" spacer
Hedman Huster headers with 1 7/8" primaries and 3.5 collector

727
Reverse Manual Valvebody
5800 PTC non-lockup

9"
4.10 gears and spooled.

'73 Duster (3000# with me in it)
Caltracs
Calvert mono leafs
Calvert shocks front and rear
FirmFeel uppers and strut rods.

Thanks in advance.
Bill

It won't be slow. I would just run it and you can calculate the power from there. It's gonna have a good bit.

Bill I like everything about that engine combo, converter stall, rear gear since you run 1/4 mile. I like a little more cam duration but that’s me. Great headers and Thumper carb is also a plus. My question mark is the TrickFlow heads. A member is running some nice 6.50-6.60 passes at keystone and posted his combo but I can’t remember his cam choice. The first port I checked on my TrickFlow heads hit the advertised 300cfm. But I also found one terrible port and on that maxed out at 290 then dropped. Hmmmm. I can’t wait to hear your results because I know from following you I’m sure it will run great. I’m hoping to see it in the 9’s soon.

Yeah, typically I don't ask this kinda question but lately I've seen others do it and it got me curious. Personally I don't put a lot into a number as my goals are all for the track.

Thanks John. If it doesn't put down a good number, it's coming apart and getting a new cam with more duration AND I am sending the heads to you to work your magic if and when you get time.

TrickFlow tied my hands on these heads Bill. I’ll be putting new seats and bigger valves in mine but I won’t be doing that for customers heads. Way to much work and time. I have a couple ideas when I get time after fixing their shortside on that one head. They didn’t think a few things through and coming from this company has shocked me. They almost forced the consumer to buy another racier head if they ever come available

I think John up there is right on the money. I just hate throwing out guesses cause I'm usually wrong. lol I do enjoy these type threads, though.

All i can go by is my experience. My ride is about 500 lbs less than yours, but I'll bet you have 100 more horsepower. Mine went nines occasionally, ten ohs consistently. Bugs worked out, i would expect yours to be faster.

I think you have a 600+hp combo there, you may have to play with gearing, { 4:30 4:56 } to maximize your et. A 904 would be worth a 1/10 - 2/10's on your hot rod. I am with PBR on the camshaft, but for now I love the combo and go have fun sorting it out. I would guess lower 10's and big big smiles .

I forgot to mention that I also have a 150 shot NX plate system on a scramble button for the times I need just a little more to fender someone. lol

here's a trick flow 408 with less cam and cr making 514 hp @ 5900 rpm 526 tq @ 4000 rpm
10:1 cr and 242/248 duration, .571/.577 lift, 109 LSA. 770 with Airgap

How will it perform?

Camshaft manufacturer? Cam card?

It might like more spacer, hard to call. So you have more to test with?
Header size is good IMO. Did you maintain the exhaust pipe at 3.5?

Have you run the car with this set up since the change?

First pass.. mid to low 11's...
After some passes and adjustments mid to high 10's...
118-122 mph...

I'm thinking you'll be 10.00s, boy maybe we can go heads up next year
