I've got a stock LA 360 roller cam engine. I'm putting magnum heads on it. Which I'm thinking will pick me up 1/2 or 3/4 of a point on the compression ratio and a airgap intake. I'm thinking about running a Hughes 2228 whiplash roller cam. Does any of you have any experience with this cam? Or any other cam recommendations with the combination I'm running.

what valve spring are you using on the magnum heads ?

with the 1.6 magnum rockers hughes shows .544 lift... the retainer is probably going to hit the top of the guide unless they are machined down...

70aarcuda nailed it, you will need their retainer to avoid the top of the stock retainer hitting the top of the valve guide. Anything over about .525 lift with a stock retainer is getting really close.I have a stock 360 magnum uncut heads and block with a .512 cam and I only have .020 clearance. Also I don't think you will have much luck with stock valve springs with the whiplash cam.
