Nice chrome handle, shifter ball, original hurst shift body, factory slip in, not bolt in, handle. $175 firm plus shipping from Florida. This is not an overdrive 4 speed shifter, by the way...

Because an o/d shifter looks similar but is not exactly the same. Shifter is tentatively sold...

THanks, I was only asking because I am swapping out my regular 4 speed 833 for an 833 od but I was not planning on changing the shifter. Do you think I need to ?

I am almost 100% positive the Hurst shifters and Hurst shift mechanisms were the same - overdrive or 4 speed. The rods and levers on the transmission are definitely different however....

A quick check of Brewers website shows the same shifter mechanisms for 4 speeds and overdrives.

I ran an overdrive shift mechanism on my 4 speed with no problems....

I think you just have to turn the 3/4 shift lever to point down. Not for sure though. tmm

Turn the 3-4 lever down and lengthen the rod.
Standard 4-speed parts work on a OD with minor work.

I would expect that the 3/4 lever rod needs to be shortened or lengthened, hopefully I can modify what I have, otherwise I could just install it like a regular 833 and then just shift from second to forth and then third :)

until I get the correct rod.

I apologize for hijacking your for sale ad,

You need to lengthen the rod and it will work fine.
