The kit that comes with metal bushings, those are to replace the nylon bushings on the lever side or the shifter side or both? I have a set of repop OE rods and levers for my 68 Dart and on the lever side, they’re nylon.

Replace the nylon bushings with the steel bushings, you will thank yourself later.

Are your OE repro rods gold in color? If yes, I don't believe any of the aftermarket bushings fit those rods. You would need to make them if you want to replace them.

They’re not.. they’re silver. It was a thought that if these would work, I’d give them a try. Ah well..

The ones made/sold by PG classic out of Canada do not take a standard bushing. At one time they were gold color plating...they might have changed it. Post a pic and I could tell you.

The whole reason why I switched to these is because I messed up and made my hurst rod for the 1-2 too short.. long story.. a friend was able to fix the 1-2 rod. I bought these since I was in a bind and at the time you didn’t have the set in stock. As you can see it has nylon bushings. Since I’ve repaired my hurst 1-2 rod. I’m gonna be putting those back on and keeping these as spares. I wasn’t happy with these anyhow because the levers are way thicker than the hurst ones and it seems like the slots don’t fit all that great. Probably because they’re awfully thick. I found them on eBay and the seller had 100% feedback so I took a shot.. the seller sells a lot of repro Mopar parts. The hurst stuff fit much better

Being I’m putting my hurst rods and levers back on, the lever for the 3-4, which way is it supposed to face? Since the 3-4 lever is flat and the slot for the shaft is slanted forward or rearward depending on which way you install them on the rod.. just thought I’d ask and save some headache. Does the stamped number on the lever face away from the transmission ?

On second thought, it should only go on one way if everything is in neutral and the shifter body is in its neutral position

Yes, those are the rods made/sold through PG classic. I'll attach some pics of our A-body rods installed on the transmission.

These are the rods and levers that came with my transmission. They’re not like the OE rods.. it was just bad timing, I would preferred to have bought yours but.. is what it is I suppose. I’m gonna be putting the setup that came on it back.

That’s not neutral position but ya can see the type they are.. I’ve since replaced the original bayonet style hurst unit with a comp plus and while doing that I didn’t set them up correctly. I know the correct way now. Hard lesson learned. It’s all been a learning experience.. it was my first 4spd conversion. I do have a couple of questions that I’d like to ask ya in a PM if that’s okay.. it’s about the transmission itself..
