awhile back I posted some pics of a 1935 Ford 5 window coupe that we had painted for a friend of ours. Man has about $60,000 tied up in this car. Has had it for 40 years trying to get it together and he had seen our cars at a car show in Madison Indiana last year and he wanted us to paint it again. He had some other guy paint this car about 5 years earlier and didn't like the way it turned out. We looked at it and gave him a price and the next weekend it was at the house being prepped for another paint job. here are some pics of it after it was done.

We painted the whole car and took it back to him and helped put it together. The man is in his 80's. He has had this car for 40 years trying to get it finished. We got a call last night that he was in his garage messing with it and somehow got it started and the throttle went wide open and hit the back wall of the garage. Here are some pics we took of it this morning. WOW . The guy who did the first paint job must have put a lot of bondo in the fenders. The fenders are done for. If he can find some other fenders, we can help him. But these are done. Not sure on the rest of the front.

That was pretty common years ago to coat the whole fender with filler to cover wrinkled fenders.

well it is really wrinkled now. Buckled pretty good. Wanted us to fix it. There is a lot of hours in those fenders and not really sure it could be done. told him to find another set if possible. As a last resort, and I don't want to think about doing them.

Yall didn't find the bondo when you did the repaint?

no, we just scuffed the paint and repainted the whole car. the body work was pretty much ok. just had to block a few places and sand down some runs. He spent $5000 on the previous body work and paint. the guy who did the body work was better at that than painting. He must have had a bad day because he has a 53 Ford pick up that is black and is one of the sharpest trucks I have seen. You know how well body work has to be for black to look good.

Wow !! Not could and could have been worse.
All I have to say is someone needs to hook up a neutral safety switch

that was the first thing I said to him. funny thing is that he has a neutral safety switch on it but had not gotten to hooking it up yet. This man is sick right now over this. I still cannot figure what he did but he has a big black mark on the garage floor where it did a burn out. He has a brand new 430 HP crate engine in it. We will get it fixed for him. just will take a little while.
