I went to the Mt. Vernon swapmeet today not really looking for anything.
I got a lokar throttle cable for 20 bucks and for 40 bucks I got a flathead...the whole thing....carb to pan...all of it....It's a 1947 59 ab truck motor with a 94 carb on it. The motor was sitting in the back of a truck in the woods for about ever, the starter has the rust out option, the generator is crap, one of the water pumps is frozen, the carb is all locked up, the distributor cap went "poof" the second I tryed to remove it, #3 and #4 cyllinder walls bolth have a chunk about 2 inches wide and 4 inches long all the way into the water passages, Im pretty sure that all but 3 of the valves are stuck and it's got some pretty rank smelling sluge in it thats stinking up my garage...But damnit it's neat and I wanted it!!!!!
So how many sleaves can an old flathead have? or is there anyone with an old flathead in western washington that they dont want?
