I am sand blasting and powder coating my patio furniture, and the 42" diameter table top will fit in my oven, but not in my blasting cabinet. So I found a place nearby that offered sand blasting and powder coating. I took the table top there this afternoon, and one of the table legs I had already coated to show him what it was going to look like. He shot me a reasonable price for the blasting, and then I showed him the table leg. He said it really looked good. I pulled out my phone and showed him some other things I had coated. Then he offered me a job. He was real insistent. He said he only wants part time help. I told him I was flattered, but I didn't really want a job. I am 71 and retired. He gave me a tour of his shop and kept offering the job. It was quite flattering, but I don't want a job.

I missed it….

This last Holloween a fella came up with his kids and noticed I had a Cuda in the garage. He asked if I knew how to tune carbs which lead to an instant belly roll of a laugh from me saying, “Im 55 and grew up on carbs, I don’t know or wanna know a thing about FI!”

He offered me a job as a carb tuned at his shop.

No thanks, retired and loving it thank you very much.

OK, guys. I usually catch jokes and sarcasm, but I'm not sure I get these. And by the way, for the right salary, I would wear a red wig.

my joke was that we allready have a professional powder coater on board, and shes a tall redhead
so if you're gonna act like her, you might as well look like her

(now, why moparofficial thinks shes has a big nose is between them)

Hey, Rob
I guess I missed where you re-tired. Good for you. What part of Fl do you Live.

Now I get it. As if I could be competition for the queen of powder. The nickel and dime business I have going is just to pay for car parts. All of my customers are local and word of mouth. I have gotten pretty good at it, but I am retired and I don't want to work at it very much. When I post something that I thought came out really good, I just want to share my success with my friends. And one more thing, you should have said she is a tall good-looking redhead.

Actually, you got the redhead part right. Tall, no.

I wish I could powder coat.
That takes a lot of prep and skill.
I'm more of a clean and maybe sandblast, primer, and rust-oleum guy....
