Finishing up my 85 D150 small block stroker build.
Was all set to put fluids in her and fire it up.
Putting coolant in her and started leaking.
I missed a bolt on the timing cover behind the water pump next to the fuel pump.
Ive lost count how many motors ive put together cant believe i missed it.
Frustrating, so close.
Had to vent. Guess im taking a break get some gaskets and back at it sunday.
Im going fishing.

I feel you. I opted to not replace my oil pump when I replace my rear main seal, transmission and bunch of other stuff. After sitting on the lift for many months I got it on the ground and fired it up. Not leaks, looked good. Go out to the garage the next morning to check the tune, fire it up, check the gauges and see my oil pressure bouncing around, then go away. The pump decided to crap out took the intermediate rod with it. Many F-Bombs followed! So this weekend I'll be sweating my a$$ off in the garage pulling everything apart again. I cheaped out figuring I'd save a few bucks... paying for it with time, sweat and aggravation....

Be well man,
Pat

No need to hate.

Mistakes are how we learn.

It is best to learn from other's mistakes when possible though! ;-)

Oops! No harm, no fowl. Bet ya won't leave that bolt out next time. LOL

Usually I don't mind mistakes. I just try to make sure I make them in my favor.

And don't forget the oil drain plug before ya' add the oil.:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead: (this public service message from experience within)
