I want to start doing bodywork on my 71 dart swinger, im young and dont have alot of money. If anyone has one laying around their garage, a small one, please let me know if you want to part with it and how much you are looking to get for it with shipping. Thank you- Travis

I would try to find a decent MIG welder - much better for doing body panels. Just my 2c

Dartmans right, You`ll regret trying to arc weld bodywork. ask me how I know. You should look local, welders are heavy. shipping costs$. Scour garage sales, indoor flee markets, pawn shops, classifieds, etc.

Suggest you check into joining a local Mopar club as you may find a member that may just cut you a good deal.
I just purchased a used 110V, 130amp mig welder from a fellow clubmember here in SoCal for $25 - he had just bought a new one. It has a broken top handle and a broken shield-gas regulator but works great without it using fluxcore wire. I can buy a replacement top handle and new replacement regulator for about $80. Oh yeah, the same model welder is still currently sold new for about $450 online. Great score for me!!!
So join a local club and see what you can find. You'll also find some great fellow Mopar enthusiasts.

The higher the duty cycle the better. ARC= flux covered wire or rod, Tig= tungston inert gas, requires both hands. Mig= metal inert gas, easyest to learn. Flux core= flux in center of wire, no gas required. Beg, borrow, but dont steal, anyway you can to buy a Hobart-Miller-Lincoln-etc. "American" if possible welder. Parts and consumables are available in most welding supply stores. remember the old addage' you get what you pay for.;)
