I think my 727 is fried. Now I'm at a crossroads...

Fried 727 in a car you plan to convert to 4 speed. What would you do?

  • Rebuild the 727 and run it until you're ready for the 4 speed conversion

  • Do the conversion now and worry about the engine rebuild later

  • Find a cliff, push the car over it, and never look back

Well shoot. From those two replies I’m feeling like I may have f-ed up. Hopefully not, but if I did it wouldn’t be the first time and I guarantee it won’t be the last.

I don’t really know what I’m doing, but trying to juggle funds, skills, and time can sometimes be a challenge.

It's usually gas.

But I agree, considering how it's driving so far, I think it's fine. I want to get the front end aligned before driving it too much.

Well, the front end is aligned and the car has been 'round and 'round the town in a multitude of driving conditions. Shifts great, and for the first time since owning the car, it's a pleasure to walk out and not see one single drop of fluid underneath. (knock on wood....)

Thanks to all for the help.

What?!? We're all done with this one?!?! Shoot, I was ready to tear all back into it again....
So was I. But the great part about all this is that while it would’ve been frustrating, the more I do this, the better I get. I learn something new every time I’m under that car.
