I have a 68 cuda that has a modified stock harness. Its brand new.It comes pre-wired for dual field alternator and electronic ignition. What I need to know is where I can find a wire that is live with the key on and also live when the key is in the start position.I am not using a ballast resister.I am trying to hook up the on/off wire for a msd box

There is none. You have to hook the "old" ign1 and ign2 together, ie "ignition run" usually blue, and the bypass wire, usually brown.

Yep, connect the two wires that were for the hot side of the ballast together and use those as your ignition system power supply.
That's what we do with our HEI kits also, because they require power in both positions like the MSD wants.

Like you needed another opinion :D

I joined the blue and the brown together and it works....thanks
