Ignition control module

Today I swapped in a new ignition control module on my 73 swinger slant and noticed the new one only has 4 posts but the old one had 5 and the harness connector has five wires and plug holes. Can some enlighten me please?

This was a manufacturing change "for the better." You no longer need 1/2 the ballast resistor, in fact, you could go back to a 2 terminal resistor.

The old "5 pin" box had a power feed through the other half of the resistor
