Seriously.I have a stack of stories of all the B.S. I went through with this car (You new guys have no idea.... do a search for my old posts.) I figure I could write a REAL restoration book talking about real people like us whom wrench on their cars and make mistakes, have unforeseen set-backs, difficult vendors or body shops, and ultimately, win. Everything from "helpful" friends that cost you money, or buying parts and having to modify every damn thing that gets bolted together. I could also give advice on fabricating odds-n-ends a home hobbyist could do. I have almost the complete restoration photo-archived and have a list of costs.
I'm by no means a wealthy guy. My Wife & myself are making some sacrifices to see this project through. Fortunately our living expenses are manageable and she's a saint. But most of what I'm doing can be tackled project by project as needed. Engine re-building... Suspension re-build....Dash resto...plumbing fuel system.... custom wiring....fabricating simple shields, brackets, and mounts. Dare I say it, even a headliner installation.
Wadda ya think? Or should I just go bang my head against the wall some more? 8)
