Ive got an issue with in-line tube. I BOUGHT a 5/16 fuel line for a 73 Dart. I usually make them, however, I wanted the Auto 1 kids to install the "factory" line. Anyway....the line broke during the install.

Where the line goes around the frame rail in the RR wheelwell, the saddle bend had and internal clearance of 2", the frame rail measure 2 1/2 wide. When the kids pushed up the line, it snapped at the bend. Inline told me their lines don't break with 1 or 2 bend cycles...this one did!

Inline told me all their lines are correct; and that 2" clearance is correct. They told me I had too much undercoating, that was the problem. The rail is 2 1/2" wide, trust me. Is it only my car on the planet with 2 1/2" wide frame rails?

In-line told me they would sell me another line with a 20% discount, but it would be bent the same way (wrong). So I asked for a refund, they told me NO. I told them that they would be losing a customer for life over this.....the manager "mark" said...."Thats fine". wow.....great customer service....

1) what is the correct frame rail width?
2) any else run into this problem?

BTW: In my opinion.....NOT very helpful people at Inline tube, bend your own lines....

Just a guess....Is it possible there's a frame rail repair cap on your frame rail? Even then a difference of 1/2" seem like a lot...

I got my front brake lines from them, they sent the power brake set up and I have manual brakes. I did order the manual brake setup. It took forever for them to get it to me..3 months. I had everything apart so it arrived about the time I needed them. The piece that goes on the firewall is a tad too long, but it all worked out fine. From now on I buy from the local autoparts store and they do the double flange for me. I did the rears that way. When I replace the fuel line thats how i'll do it, I'm not thrilled with inline tube!

Right Stuff detailing, they went out of their way to make my lines for my 8 3/4 and then didn't even charge me for thew new one they made custom. Awesome customer care

In front of the axle the rail is 2 1/2" wide (where the brake line runs). Behind the axle it's 2" wide. Sounds like the metal was defective to me. It shouldn't break that easily. I've rebent many steel lines without a problem.

Got my fuel line and pick up from gastanks.com every bend was correct fit like a glove...

I ordered all the lines on my car from them (all brake except the axle and the fuel line). They worked out great. I converted from power to manual brakes. Called them back to order just the lines from the prop lines to the M/C. The guy was a dick and didn't want to sell me anything if I wasn't going to order the whole brake line kit.

I figured it was his time of the month and was just a fluke.

My Brother ordered a stainless fuel line from his fuel pump to his carb. It broke as he was tightening the carb side of it. He said he had to bend it a little to get it to line up. It split right down the seem. He called them back and they told him T.S. He tried to fix it but the line was so thin and brittle that he couldn't reflare it. He tossed it in the trash and made his own from.

That is enough to really rub you the wrong way! I wont buy anything from them again because of how they treated my Brother. Screw them!
