So i have been working on the Dusters latey, put new KYB's on the 70 and it doesnt ride like a barge anymore.
I think the 73 hates me though. i replaced the distributor and the throttle cable and tuned it up, and then i put a new carb on it. A Autoline from RockAuto, a 6036.
I ordered the one they listed for a 73 318. It had a few extra vacuum fittings on it so i just plugged them as there are no emmisions on it anymore.
I installed it and its choke needed adjusting so i kept it running till it warmed up, then i tried adjusting the mixture. I got it idling ok, but when you put it in drive it pukes and falls on its face.
Its got a huge vacuum leak somewhere as you can hold a rag over the carb and it has no effect. i sprayed around the carb but there is no change in idle.
I think it just hates me, more investigation tomorrow.
