Question for a mopar guru. I am getting ready for the 440 swap into a 64 valiant. I know everyone's talks about cutting holes on the inner fender to fit the exhaust. My question is will the inner fenders from the later A/body 67 and up fit into the 64. This would eliminate having to cut the inner fenders.
?????? Comments.

no...fenderwell headers are a type of header that were designed to go thru the holes u need to cut to use them...it's not a year thing

I don't understand the question. let me see, you don't want to cut your 64 fenders yet you want to install 67 and up fenders. is that correct?#-o

My thought was that I can purchase headers from TTI for the 440 swap that would fit 67 and newer a/body. I believe that the earlier a/body is 2inches narrow than the later a/body. Is the clearance in the engine compartment just due to the design of the inner fender?

Cheers

No, the frame rails are closer together. I think you need to do more research. If you are getting stuck on this, you may be in for a world of hurt.

Thanks for the info on the frame rail spec. Just trying to educate myself before I start, then at least I will be prepared.

Cheers

Im building a 64 Dart with a 440 and fender well headers. I have hedman husler fender well headers for a 68 dart.I installed 2.0 tubes from fire wall to front frame rails at radiator support Im having new inner fenders made to fit around headers. And be removable.Try to do this with the stock front end.Headers fit the body very well no cutting. But no matter what I tried could not get a full turn at the front wheels with moving them ahead by 1.5 inchs. So I installed my A100 straight axle ALL IS GOOD NOW. Stock manifolds will fit:oops:
