Anyone know if anyone is still making the bronze bushing in this type application? Checked everywhere I can think of including OReilly's as stated in a post I see somewhere. They said the SKF B287 is no longer available even though it still lists it on there web site. All I can find is the roller bearing style. Tried OReillys, Napa, Car Quest, VIP, Advance Auto, Pep Boys and Brewers. Running out of ideas. Everyone can get the roller type. Will be going in Scat stroker crank that is not drilled for bushing. Thanks for any help or part #s

Just remember............O'Reallys is not a parts store, regardless of the appearance of the joint.

what is the od of the one you need ,I have several that had been cut down to fit inside 360 cranks. pm me.

Nothing odd. It is an undrilled crank. I want bushing that goes in the hub but bronze not roller. The undersized bronze that goes in an unfinished crank would work. I can take and turn down a regular bushing if nothing else comes around.

The part # is 53298 if it is still available. Note: this is the bushing for a man trans crank and would need to be cut down if you want it to fit in an undrilled auto crank.

I got one of the adapter ones like in your picture a few years back when I did the 5.7 swap in my car. As I recall I'm pretty sure I bought it online since the part stores around here aren't very good about finding parts with actual part numbers and no car to go with them. Might have gotten it through the dealer as well.

Just asking; why are you not interested in the ball bearing type that fits in the convertor register? And the picture im seeing appears to be of a throw-out bearing. Just curious.
I have heard horror stories of the bearings seizing or falling out and messing up input shaft. Prob over thinking the idea. Odds may be slim to none? Car sets 5 mo. a yr so possibility is there. I wont run rockers w rollers on the shaft either. LOL!!!!! comps, crane, hughes, prw, or 273 rockers I will use. Pic. is of part Im in search of, not a throw out bearing. It presses into the bigger hub opening on crankshaft.

I tired to buy one like you want recently and everyone told me they are no longer available, although you guys south of the Canada border seem to have a better chance of finding stuff.
I believe the bushing type for converter register is SKF B287 or a 4338876

I figured if the roller type is good enough for the newer vehicles it's good enough for a limited driver and the only time that bearing is turning is when the clutch pedal is pushed to release the clutch.

OK. I see.... The crank in my 360 has that ballbearing pilot-bearing. Its( the engine) running aluminum(non-roller) 1.6 rockers, purchased at the local chrysler dealer. The car sits from mid Oct to about mid May outside in the FREEZING cold.I drive the nuts off it all summer. It gets 1 or 2 oil-changes per year. That engine has gone 14 years/125000 miles. It went 93mph in the 1/8th about 2000 miles ago.I just drive it, and drive it, and drive it, and......... Ive never given a thought to those parts. Now you got me thinking..... I ran a set of 273 rockers on different engine(stock318), with oem hyd. lifters set with minimum preload so they couldnt pump up,a set of 340 springs and a cast iron smallport intake. That little motor could rev...Those were the days.........

I have a new bushing style just like the one you pictured, I bought it from Brewer's years ago.
Pm if you want it.

Yeah I'm batting 0 here. I'm truly getting sick of looking. Looks like roller it will be. If it seizes ill pop the tranny out and change it. That would take less time than looking for a part that is no longer made.

I got one of these in hand. The ID of my unfinished crank is .914 may put it in the lathe and turn it down so it will fit. Napa used to have the undersized bushings on hand, but no longer. I guess everyone has swapped to the newer roller style. Looks like I make what I need or go roller. Unless someone has an older spare. LOL!!!!

are you sure of that measurement /the ones I turned down are .868 od for a 360,maybe it depends at what plant the crank was made./and what year?

I just took engine off stand and measured. I guess roller it is. The Scat crank has been drilled to 1.090" so an OEM bushing is even way to small. Oh well......
