Ok,

I normally have no problem figuring things out, however this is my first attempt at a partial rebuild of a A999.

I am currently putting in non-lockup 904 parts into this to convert it.

I have a non-LU valve body, pump and torque converter already.
I currently have a non-LU input shaft by itself (Thanks fishy68_) but now I'm trying to take the old lockup input shaft off of the clutch drum and it is not cooperating.
Yes I took out the snap ring in case some was wondering.
I cannot see anything else that could hold the darn thing back.

Do I just pound away until comes out? Or press it out? Or am I really missing something here?

Done it both ways, but got to be careful that you don't have to hit it so many times that it flares the end.
Knocking them out is faster and that is why we did it that way.

Press is safer. :D

Yep went over to my buddies shop and pressed them out, the lockup input shaft is toast, oh well it's not like I'm ever going to convert back to lockup anyways so no worries.

Do not mix up the geartrain parts. repeat.
The planetaries wil fit on either mainshaft. But the spline shape is different and,if swapped, the wrong M/S will rip the splines out of the aluminum hubs. In a hurry.
It's almost impossible to see the difference. Keep all geartrain parts in separate areas.
