Install Fan Shroud

[4 Barrel]

I am new here, so I may be on the wrong forum. I have a '70 340 Dart Swinger ( original rad ) that I want to install an original fan shroud. How is this accomplished? Does the rad have to come out? I suspect that it does. Thanks.

may just have to pull the fan off. you may be able to slide it in without taking anything off. have you tried to install it yet?

I did get the fan bolts out but the fan sits behind the clutch fan assembly. The clutch fan is in the way and appears to be bolted from the front. The rad at this point is in the way as there is only about an inch between the clutch and the rad. I thought this would be simple job without having to pull the rad.

The fan & clutch need to be removed to install the shroud.

I just installed mine and had to remove the rad

it was only 4 bolts and 2 hose clamps

flushed out the rad too

Take the 4 bolts off the clutch assembly at the front of water pump pulley. The fan will come off with it.

Though the removal of the rad is messy with spills, It is how I'd do it. The fan is cleaner with the 4 bolts attaching it, but danm it to heck IF I don't allways come up bloody! LOL!
