They don't specialize in Mopar so I want to prepare the machine shop ahead of time for any needed (unforseen) modifications or adjustments.

I thought I heard somewhere that when upgrading the rod bolts in factory small block connecting rods that the area for the head of the new bolts needed to be "relieved" a little so the bolt would seat properly. Is there any truth to this rumor? Thank you.

Yes. The under head of the new bolt has a larger radius and requires a corresponding modification to the rod itself, the chamfer on the rod needs to be enlarged.

^^^ What he said. Most performance bolts are designed not to have the stress riser where the shaft and head transition. It's a good idea to chamfer the bore before you press in the bolts.
