Is a swedge cutting tool necessary to remove the wheel studs from the disc brake hub?

On the Kelsey Hayes style you just hammer them out

I cut them or had them cut from the back and drive them out the front. It is pretty rare to find any that are still swedged as most discs have been replaced in the last 50 years. Not many people reswedge them. I'm sure a lot were just beat out. Not much for beating anything out anymore.

I hope you have new studs already since they are hard to source. Perhaps you mean you will reuse them.

65-72 Right hand studs are easy to find, anywhere.
It's the 65-70 LEFT Hand studs that are unobtanium, dinosaur eggs, hens teeth, that are hard to find.
