:thumrigh: I like'em! Just disappointed that the Dart Sport in the other batch is pretty bad off. I'm looking for a parts car. Neat place, but kinda far away.
How far from Pittsburgh are you?

I'm about 50 miles north of Harrisburg, from Pittsburg according to the map it's about 4inches!
Seriously it's like 2 or 300 miles i think,never been there. :)

Same here I hate see cars like mine like that. Fortuanetly around here I haven't found any Dart sports in the bone yards. I really haven't seen to many dusters or demons either.

LOL
I was just wondering because I stay with some friends in Pittsburgh a couple times during the year. They run a red Dart Sport in IHRA Stock also.

Too bad Chrysler didn't do a better job of rustproofing '70's A-bodies! :pale:

Not just A-bodies,from what i seen (at least in this part of the country) they didn't do a good job rust proofing anything!
That yard has cars back to the 40's even some fincars(mopars), drop top's,coupe's,sedans, wagon's.
I spent over 4 hours there, wish i had another memory card for my camera there was a lot more pics. i would like to get.
Maybe next year. :)

We just don't have junk yards like that in the Houston area that I know of. Cars come in half stripped already. They get set on pipe racks and then stripped by the masses. Then after about 4 or 5 weeks, they go to the crusher/shredder. Ususally there are only a few cars from the 70's. I have never seen any car older than '72 in the yards that I frequent.

Now if you're willing to drive a couple hundred miles, you may find some yards that have older stuff. But nothing I have seen even comes close to your pics. So maybe you should feel fortunate that you can even see cars like that despite the condition they are in.

Don't get me wrong GotDart i do like seeing the old cars like this in yards around here,it's just a shame that they rotted so bad that they are way beyond restoration.
I actually know of 2 more yards like this, just not quite as big.
Both are privately owned and has alot of old mopars, one of them has just started pulling some of his cars out of the yard and is now parting them out.
I'm going there next Sat. but i doubt if i can get any pics. of the cars because the guy that owns it is old and cranky, not the most pleasant person to deal with.

Hey Kev,

I like the pics, but they make me cry. I would love to find a place like that around here. They just don't exist. I haven't found an old car yet that I couldn't scavenge at least one part off of. The problem is, I just don't find that many.

MAN I WISH WE HAD JUNK YARDS LIKE THAT IN THE NORTHEAST. SEE...UP HERE THERE IS NO OLDER CAS IN THE YARDS.....SEEMS LIKE THERE A "DIME A DOZEN" WHERE YOU ARE.................................. :D

Didn't catch this post till now. Sad seeing the cars in this way.
But love the shot of the tree growing through the coupe or truck.

Cool pics E I need to saunter through some of the yards
here in Southern Cal. I bet I could find some rides that could
be resurrected. 8)
