What year did Chrysler start using the nylon teeth on the small block timing gears?

I think the year that the 318LA came out, so 1967... but the 340 escaped

Early 273's had the cast iron cam gear.

I don't know but if you have one change it ASAP, had one loose it's teeth on a SB Ford. Result... Canted valves and pigtail pushrods

The original 318 in my 1970 Duster had one. That was the reason I had to pull the engine the first time, every single tooth had sheared off the cam sprocket and they were all in the oil pan and pickup. Valves hit the pistons so I put reman'd heads on it but should've just found another engine that thing was not taken care of over its lifetime.

The original 318 in my 1970 Duster had one.

Same with my original 71 Demon 318, nylon covered teeth. But the chain only jumped a few teeth and the valves lived.
Somewhere I have a 69 318 and I am almost 100% sure it has a nylon on it.
