So I open the front door in a post nap stupor yesterday afternoon and here is some "young lady" who is going on about some "school project" about "meeting people" and "researching their careers" and she asks me what sounds like reasonable questions so I feed her a big story about my "career" and what I've done

AND THEN after (wasting my time) she says she has to "validate her points"

AND PULLS OUT THIS LAME ASSED LIST of magazine subscriptions.

So I lied and told her I was broke

Do people ACTUALLY fall for this sh**?

Yep, My daughter was visiting from Boston and got the same sorta line and actually ordered a mag for her kids.......two years later she tells me she never got even one mag. I said "you really thought you would?" I never buy from door to door sales people. Nowadays I won't even open the door if I don't know them. Too many home invasions going on.
