got new 1970 Dart, my key& headlight buzzer is not working, tried a different buzzer no difference. all wires are connect right. Car runs great. The only thing I have happening is with the key pushed in the ignition (not turned on) my radio works. (it has power). It stops working when I remove the key about halfway ( no power). Is my ignition switch bad?

Let me make sure I'm clear. You push the key in and do NOT turn and the radio works? You pull the key out and it stops? No that is not right.

Very first thing you need is the factory shop manual. Go to MyMopar which has a lot of info posted, including service manuals:

http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=31

Something oft ignored is the section on service "master tech conference" here

http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=117

If you select "browse by model year"

http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=403

and scroll down to '70

Something "new" that has been popping up there is a section on ONLY wiring out of the factory manuals, here. Save this

mymopar.com/downloads/1970/70_Dart_Challenger_Wiring_Full.pdf

In the above link, the Dart inst. panel stuff is long about page 17

The key-in buzzer is depicted on the far left side of page 15

Factory or aftermarket radio ?
Only buzzer I recall in a 70 model A was seatbelt buzzer. If there was also a "Don't forget your key" buzzer or a "Don't leave the lights on" buzzer, my memory is shot. Good luck though.

I believe that the key in buzzer was added for 71...

My '70 Dart has a key-in buzzer but I unplugged it because it was annoying as hell. The buzzer is still behind the dash near the glove box.

It's documented right in the shop manual. My 70RR certainly had one, as I remember unhooking it.

The buzzer in my 73 did have a crowd of wires attached. It too was silenced long before that car died. I really don't recall what set it off other that seatbelts.

71 Swinger had key reminder and I think lights... I say had because I un-hooked it.
