Kick down shaft just spins??

Finally getting around to adding kick down to my mystery 727 which was allegedly rebuilt.

The kick down shaft just spins has anyone see this before? No resistance at all

Maybe an aftermarket valve body with no kick down??

You'll learn more when you pull the valve body.

If there were no levers on it, the throttle shaft can drop down into the transmission a bit and lose engagement. Drop the pan and realign everything, and install the levers as you hold the shaft up in place.
This is a fairly common issue when trying to replace the shaft seal without dropping the pan...

That's wierd. Sounds like the inner arm is broke off. But if it was, then you could pull up on the shaft; possibly all the way out. Is the e-clip still on the shaft?
