Hooking up my Lokar kickdown and had a stupid question.

I got the cable connected to the lever on my trans, now when I connect the other side to the TB, should it be connected at WOT or idle position?

Thanks

wot from what i remember when i did mine. Its been a while and one too many beers since

no toward the front of the car. the mount ataches at the tailshaft and pulls back so you want it to return forward when you let off the throttle

You have to hook the cable on the back side of the trans, so it pulls the kickdown lever, the other end hooks on the bracket on the back stud on the carb. Now when you adjust it, the kick down lever should be pushed forward toward the front of the car. The end on the carb should be adjusted with the carb at idle position or all the way forward. Then you tighten the cable in the bracket the cable goes through. The kickdown lever should move as soon as you open the throttle. If you do not do it this way, you will ruin the trans because the pressure will not be right in the transmission.

I put a return spring from the trans lever to the bellhousing instead of top-side, same purpose, pulls lever back forward when off the throttle.

I'm sooooo glad I just read this. Thanks for that bit of info. I'm used to that lever being a passing gear. Good thing I haven't been driving my car any more than a few feet at a time!
