I have just had installed a reverse maual valve body in my 727. - thus there is no benefit to having or hooking up the kickdown linkage - correct?
The tranny shop said it doesn't hurt to have it hooked up - but there is no purpose, so why would one hook it up?

FIND ANOTHER TRANSMISSION SHOP! You only would need a kick down if it was an manual - auto valve body. No kick down with a full manual valve body.

I agree with Mike....No kickdown required with a full manual valve body. The line pressure is full at all times. The trans will shift into any forward gear at any speed, negating the kickdown function.

The only reason to keep it that I can think of would be if you were racing in a class that requires you to have it looking stock. For instance, year one's F.A.S.T class needs it for an auto car.
