Knob mystery for today. Can you ID?

In the spirit of TBT, I found this chrome knob inside the dash when i removed the glovebox insert. I am not missing any knobs on my dash, and not sure what this knob is for. I can tell you it is 15/16 wide and 15/16 tall. It appears to have ridges inside but it is not threaded.
Can you ID it?
I have 66 dddart 270 sedan btw.
Have fun with this one guys.

I do notice on the lever for the Fan speed, there is no knob, but that seems by design?

ahh.. of course. So I assume there is no way to reattach a piece like this? So it is trash., right?

Probably easier to find a replacement from someone on the site.

A barbed driven stud held it on the handle. you ay find those in the part stores help line.
