L-Tec welder

-
wow, a welder that can stick to the side of a wall has GOT to be worth a lot.

looks like an old stick welder.....$50

Does anyone know how old this is and what the value is if its functional?

L-Tec welders were commerical duty welders manufactured by Linde.

If you are going to the auction make sure it isn't 3 phase.

BTW, that is a mig welder.

LTec 225 is a decent mig welder. Not too much to go wrong with them other than the contactor wearing eventually or a fan motor. Most problems people bring them in for are feed issues due to bad liner or they have the heat setting in between clicks so they get no output. I would say max on it would be about $400. You will drop a couple hundred in to it if the gun is shot.
And no the wire is not hot all the time it is controlled by the gun trigger.

I stand corrected. What does the wire speed controler do?

I bought an L-tec Multi use machine last year. I paid $900.00 for it and it is a little bigger than your unit there.

It is a Tig Welder/Stick Welder combo. It is 240v or 480V unit that is 250 AMPS. I am using it on 240V , to hook it up to 480V there is a side cover to hook up those wires.

Like stated earlier L-Tec is a commercial welder built to last unlike the newer compact units that are out there today.

Linde sold a WHOLE bunch of welders to the Military, their quality is that good. It don't matter how old the machine is as long as it works your good to go.
