Ready to feel more low end power. Ditched the single for a dual plain air gap. Bulling the 20 year old lifters for new, found out what my tick was, must likely happened at first start up after setting for years. My day

Morning guys.
Supposed to be another mild day, gotta love it.
It was past 6pm last night and still fairly light out.
The water should really start to run for today anyway.
Have a great day

Weather lair says mild all next, rain in forecast also. If that happens all snow will be gone. Snowmobile season came to an abrupt end last Sunday as it was warm, everyone and their dog was out on their sled, trails got hacked and not much snow to groom them. Still don’t understand how it ca go from-32F to 33 F in 3 days. No matter I’ll take it. Make it a good one guys

What the hell you going to do with all that money Fred. Guy I sometimes work for called me the other day. Asked if I wanted to work framing a basement out. I asked is all the material down there. He said no, I said same answer
Just trying to pay my home loan off as fast as I can.

Careful with new lifters. Most are junk. Have the new ones or old ones refaced or you may have an issue.

Thank you, yes I agree... have set aside 13 good ones that pumped up good, all my surfaces areas look real good and flat.

Thank you Chief

New lifters old cam ok, new cam old lifters, no go. Never had much problem with lifters. Took the factory cam, lifters, push rods and rockers out replaced it with flat tappets. Had engine apart twice after no problems with valve train.

Actually not flat. They wont spin on the cam lobe. They should be slightly domed. If put on a flat surface they should slightly rock.

Appears that the push rode danced out of the rocker seat once or twice. Sat 20 years and that lifter was not pumping up, dew to crud from it long nap it took.
Most important though is good oil, find one with all the bad stuff in it, all the heavy metals, zinc etc. Driven is the brand name I use $$$$$ but worth it. Forgot to hook up oil pressure gauge line went to prime engine that oil sprayed out hit the ceiling and all over windshield. Half an hour, can and1/2 windex windshield was clean again ugh.

I will check my new one that soaked over night about 10 am, looking at my old ones, no wobble.. now this is an OEM stock lifter I have been running, put out 170.00 for these. Never over 55 hundred rpms.. prices have been NUTS.

I think it's around $5 per lifter to reface. heard some are doing this on New lifters as this been an issue. Some take their lifters apart and clean and inspect and reface as opposed to a new set. Just food for thought

Going out for supper tonight. It's my Birfday. Started celebrating a little early. Wife's turn to drive. I qualify for social security but thinking about waiting until 65. That's when Medicare kicks in. Had to cook my own cake. :thankyou:
