I cut and trimmed this from a junkyard truck to weld in next weekend

never froze here last night, man wild weather, goes from -36C to +3c in 72 hours, nuts!!
Agreed. It didn't drop below 38* last night at home, and when I got to the office just now (western suburbs of Minne-a-no-place) I was surprised to see that winter is over, according to the snow (or lack thereof) left on the ground.

There's an "old wive's tale" here that "We always get a snow storm during the High School basketball tournament" (mid-March). I put that in quotes because MPR debunked it years ago, but I would bet $100 that I'm going to hear someone say that in the office today.

After the last couple days with temperatures in the high 40s/low 50s and 30 to 50 mph winds there is very little snow left here, except for where we've been piling it. Forecast is possible rain showers this morning but it looks pretty clear at the moment, and highs in the mid 50s through Sunday. Saw one guy on a motorcycle yesterday on my way to the dog park, expecting to see more of them today. I'll wait for a bit before I take mine out I think.

Yup! Back when I still had my bikes I used to wait until we got a good, soaking rain before I took them out in the spring.

We don't see much sanding on the streets here, they tend to wait for a Chinook to just melt away the snow, but the 3 week long cold spell that just ended forced the city to do at least a little bit of snow removal and sanding. We have been in this house since June 2013 and have never seen our street or back alley get plowed.

It's not just the sand (although that was the major reason), but also the roads always seemed a bit "greasy" until we got a good rain. Heck, sometimes even in the summer they could get that way....

Ride safe, Randy!

Even with the Dart won’t take it out in the spring on Hwy till after a good rain.

Nice!

It might just be a simple plow truck, but there's no need to cut corners in my opinion, and I like the way you're going about this!
I actually put the box on it with the intention of making it decent one day. I have a set of doors and front clip from a Texas truck to hopefully put on it then paint it. The value of these old trucks just keeps going up.

I flipped a 97 single cab 350 for good money. Rancher wanted it for the automatic as his knees were bad. He needed the regular cab to fit his hay spreading unit or whatever its called. lol DI turbo diesel.
