Probably a longshot to find a good used one today, that's why I used to keep spares. I still do, but no Mopar ones left now, put my spare GM one in the Ventura last year, and I have one for my 97 T Bird still. I would go with new, unless you have a good rebuild shop in your area, even those are getting hard to find today.
Never really had to much problems with alternators or starters for that matter. If I do I take it to this local guy, he tests it, changes a diode, brushes or whatever. And back on the road. Very seldom is it the field or the armature.

There were a few really good shops around Winnipeg that I knew of. Can't remember the names, but I remember when the starter puked on my Kawasaki 1100 LTD, a new one from the stealer was over $500.00, and this was in 1987 or so, plus 2 weeks waiting for it to be shipped. Summer is way too short to lose 2 weeks of riding time, so I had a shop on Logan Ave I think it was, rebuild it. Ready in one day and just over $100.00. That's more like it!

there is a guy close to me

i have to do the cost comparisons b4 i make a commitment, i know, its just an alternator but i work hard for my money and i hate spending more than i have to.
I hear ya there, hope you can find a decent deal either way. Remember I am from Winnipeg, we are known for squeezing nickels into quarters and we will drive 10 miles to save 5 bucks!

My youngest son worked for a guy that would strip old cop cars of the equipment. Repair or replace equipment and install it on the new cop cars. He was telling me about all the **** he would find under the back seat. Drugs, knives etc. Got the lawn tractor out and started the dusty chore of smashing up last falls leaves. When you live in the bush raking is not an option. Finished that job, then hooked my 8’ steel 10” I beam and dragged the driveway. Poplars are getting a green tinge Whoo Hoo summer is on the way. Keep smiling guys makes them wonder.

Good to wait a bit so the pollinators come out of their winter beds. Planted some of the garden today. Almost hit 70 degrees.

Cop cars are special. I've owned 2. I have some bucket seats out of a 9C1 impala. They are heavy as hell. I found out the backs are lined with steel to prevent shanking.

Morning guys. Well I survived yesterday.
I was delayed an hr but that was fine. Somebody was in worse shape than me.
Got home around 3:35. Been there since 9:30 and was scheduled for 11:30.
Slept like a log though sitting up on the couch.
A little tender this morning but to be expected.
Food never tasted so good.
Have a great day

Just finished waking up the Dart, the sound of it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Whoo Hoo can smell the tire smoke already.

Glad you're still alive Mark, take it easy and heal fast.

Made some stairs off the receiver hitch to get in the back of the old truck. I still have to varnish them but I'm happy with it so far.

There’s a guy around here that has a 70 Dart 360 4 speed. Who wants to race me. Have no desire to race. I am certain that I will blow his doors, as I have ridden in his car, no traction, 5 out of 10 shifts hit the rev limiter when he misses and he’s my boss sort of. Modified the governor linkage to make my trans shift at 6500 rpm in D. Modified pinion snubber,Dynoed at 365 hp at wheels. What do I need this greif for, on top of loosening your car for racing

It’s not worth the pain if they impound your car if caught take it to the track or just ignore him

A little harder to make a square box A body hook up. But with reinforced floor and a few tweaks a pinion sunbber will work. Have 80/20 front shocks torsion bars set for level. Stock rear springs, clamped springs in front of axle unclamped rear of axle, load converter to 3500 and 6’ patch Whoo Hoo. If you want to make her smoke jus hold the brake a touch

Ya need to come over someday and we can go for a ride in both cars and after driving set back and enjoy a few drinks and a good dinner.

started working on the parts sorting roll around shelving/storage unit. I'm going to lower the "shelf" to put the saw on and cut up some 2 by 6's later in the week. building a pair of ramps cause the ones I have hit the "chin" on the edge of the front fender/bumper cover. used whatever I had laying around in 1 by's. tried 2 by 6's but they are too tall for the cut outs in the beams. maybe for a lower shelf where they will be holding a bunch of stuff.
