Thanks for the show pics, Mark! Quite a variety of vehicles, and that always makes things interesting, as you never know what’s down the next row…

As for me, woke up with a sharp pain in my back this morning (How the hell does a guy hurt his back just sleeping?), and that’s Not Good, as I’m driving an hour north of here this morning to pick up the last load of 2” foam insulation for the ceiling of the “shep”. Should be fun (yeah, right!) loading, and unloading this stuff again:

Thankfully this should be last of it.

Air quality is down, and supposed to drop even further, so anyone downwind of the Canadian fires: Stay safe, and take it easy today!

I’m out.

Morning Gents. How’s the smoke out your way Fred? Like pea soup here. It’s worse than yesterday and dead calm it’s just hanging here. Had a bit of an issue with the condensate pump on my air conditioner. But got it fixed. Can’t believe the amount of water those things pull out of the air. Smile guy’s, keeps them guessing.
Smokes pretty thick down here this morning.

First/inner layer of the ceiling insulation for the shop has been picked-up!

Doesn't seem to be that bad here this morning, but the tire smoke was pretty thick at times last night. Well over 1000 classic cars and hot rods are in town for Street Machine Weekend, last night was the kick off with the "controlled" cruise in the downtown area and the uncontrolled action on our main north-south route. 3 lanes in each direction of at times bumper to bumper traffic. I was out in the Ventura for a bit but it gets so slow that I don't enjoy it much so I found a place to park and watch the action. Plenty of idiots to keep the police busy all night, they bring in some extra help from the Alberta Sheriff's highway patrol and some very inconspicuous unmarked units, plus some motorcycle units to get through the traffic quicker. I only got a few pictures as it's not easy while driving, and I didn't take any pics when I was standing on the curb this time. It will be on again tonight, not sure if I will be out or not, been a very busy week.

The 69 Roadrunner died about a minute after I snapped the picture, probably vapor locked or something, the 71 Challenger convertible was a bit rough but occupied by two attractive brunettes, and the AAR Cuda is a real deal survivor, I've seen it before and talked with the owner.

I need to renew my pass port and get up there someday to the show.

You would have a blast, 3 days of horsepower and sun. Today is the 100' drags, and tomorrow there's a show and shine that draws well over 500 cars every year, would be more but not enough space in the park they use. There are typically other shows in town this weekend but they are not affiliated with the official sponsors and organizers. This event has been held annually for over 40 years. People were lining the boulevards along the main streets by 4 pm yesterday to get a good view of the action. My brother did not make it this year, he's been having some issues with his back and a couple of bulging disks.

I heard it was a good show and lots going on. Would be fun to drive the Scamp up there.

Hope your brother gets better soon, that sucks.

He has good and bad days, bad days he can barely get out of bed, good days he has to get caught up with all the things he can't do on bad days. Shitty situation for sure.
I have the same problem, protruding discs in back. Your good for years and then you get complacent and forget about your back and do something stupid. Which in turns puts you on your back. Only one piece of advice, lay off the pain killers. 99% of them will damage your hearing. It will get better however the back is now BOSS

59 Camino sounds sweet, that would be a real toss up for me.
Well I left her a massage on the Mustang this morning and she did not return so I messaged the El Camino and am looking at it tomorrow afternoon. It is about an hour and half away so I am taking the trailer and cash. I may have a pic to share if I buy it

Those old elcaminos sure have a lot of places to rust. Not that the rest do not.

That must be if not the first year of El Camino very close to. Remember my dad got a brand new 1960 cheby station wagon for a telephone service vehicle. Same kind of styling, wings and pointy tail lights

Morning guys.
Going to be another scorcher today
Didn't go to the show last night because it felt like 102 with the humidity and didn't fancy standing on a asphalt parking lot in full sun.
See what today brings though.
Sadly we have our neighbours of 29 years moving to live at their cottage. Cottage is larger than their house plus building a 36x40 garage with living quarters above.
We did meet the new people and seem to be really nice and the wife is an avid gardener so she and my wife will be good. He's a videographer and used to do fishing shows but now works for our local government.
Two young lads and the oldest is nice but we hear the youngest is a bit of a hellion.
Be still my heart.
Things some guys have to put up with

Still waiting on the lady to let me know if she is accepting my offer on the Mach1 . I found a 1959 El Camino project I want to buy if she says no.
As per my previous response on this, I’m particularly curious to hear about any updates on the ‘69, and I hope you get a “yay” or “nay” sometime soon, as I know how frustrating it can be to just be left hanging

Good luck!

LOL! I was just checking the air quality here, and trying to decide if and/or how much I should abuse my lungs today, when I spotted these quite….uh…..”healthy” lungs! (Thanks, Mark!)

Timing is everything, I guess.

Air has gotten worse here (most of it small particulate matter less than 2.5 microns, aka smoke), and since my throat was none too happy yesterday, I may just have to find something to do indoors today.

Stay healthy, gents!
