That’s why my dart sat for so many years,39 to be exact. didn’t owe me anything, I didn’t owe anything on it. Life happened. So now I have a few bucks for toys. Whoo Hoo.Always a Ferrari in the mix. The last car is a 74 challenger with a 727 auto 318. It was close to being Perfect. Apparently that was an original color that came out in 74? Didn't get a chance to talk to the guy or girl that owned it. That is what his tag said anyway. This was the first Mopar I ever owned. I should not have kept it. Same year same Engine. It sounded nice. Sold it to someone for 1500.00 and ended up wreaking it a week later. I still should have bought it back from him, but i was young and needed the money.

I had a friend that had a 74 Challenger in the same color, don't remember for sure but I think it was a 318/904. Think the color was called butterscotch. His had a white vinyl top and Cragar SS wheels. He sold it not long after high school and bought a 79 F150 shortbox 4x4 with a lift kit and 33 inch tires.Always a Ferrari in the mix. Yeah, we had a lot of fun in that truck, 400 and a C6, go through damn near anything. I had a chance to trade him for my 66 Galaxie 500, but the front differential was damaged after he hit a large rock one night in a field. Beer may have been involved.79 short box..nice ride as well
Back in ‘89 or ‘90 when I was managing a NAPA store, one of the P/T evening kids had a convertible version of that car. 318 auto is all I can remember. When one of his grandparents died he got a considerable inheritance (for back then), so he sold the Challenger for damn near next to nothing and bought a fully restored, trailer queen ‘69 El Camino with a 396 and 4 speed. Of course he drove it in the winter, and of course he smashed it all to hell.Always a Ferrari in the mix. The last car is a 74 challenger with a 727 auto 318. It was close to being Perfect. yeah....if only he knew what he had. I sold the challenger because I thought ( back then) this car is not considered a "true Muscle era challenger" so i sold it.. I always wanted a 70 T/A which was going for about 10-15k @ the time? I have a pic of me in front of my car in the dead of winter. It was so loud and the heater never worked right but hey.... I had my mopar!Back in ‘89 or ‘90 when I was managing a NAPA store, one of the P/T evening kids had a convertible version of that car. 318 auto is all I can remember. Anyway, I was saving up for an upcoming wedding, and couldn’t afford the “next to nothing” price for the Challenger at the time. Still kick myself for that one.
I hear that! In ‘82 I was a Junior in HS, and based on all the shitty cars I had that year, I was definitely driving a POS!I had it in 1982 and was 19-20. Couldnt afford sh*t back then. A good way to apricate the things in life as you get older thats for sure

In '82 I was slammed in a hit and run by a suspected drunk driver, completely destroyed my 1980 Yamaha XS1100, and did a pretty good number on my left leg and ankle, (still have trouble with it today).I hear that! Bought a ‘71 Vega from San Diego that summer and dumped a 350/350 combo in it with a Hooker Headers mount kit. Thought I was pretty cool with that car, but in all honesty it was just another POS.
But a quick POS, that’s for sure!

Sorry to hear about your leg and ankle, Randy. In '82 I was slammed in a hit and run by a suspected drunk driver, completely destroyed my 1980 Yamaha XS1100, and did a pretty good number on my left leg and ankle, (still have trouble with it today).
My car was a '74 Gran Torino Brougham, 2 door, 351W, man did I beat the absolute **** out of that poor car! Good times!
My mum had a 70 and a 71 vega!...I wanted the 70 but again...money issue..plus the floor boards were completely rotted out and remember my dad and I pop riveting and tarring both front and back. What a great time that was. Dad and I on our hands and knees taking a roller and regular acrylic house paint to paint it in the middle of the street. I wish we had more access to camera back then to capture the simple times back thenI hear that! that was a boat considering the year it was made for its time. side swiped by a car ? i can feel that pain just tinking about it.In '82 I was slammed in a hit and run by a suspected drunk driver, completely destroyed my 1980 Yamaha XS1100, and did a pretty good number on my left leg and ankle, (still have trouble with it today).

Yeah, I hit the right front corner of a '68 Ford Galaxie 500, pulled the edge of the bumper 90 degrees around.that was a boat considering the year it was made for its time. side swiped by a car ? i can feel that pain just tinking about it.
did you fight that...The china cabinet thing. I would have said two words...."POUND SALT"Yeah, I hit the right front corner of a '68 Ford Galaxie 500, pulled the edge of the bumper 90 degrees around.
The Torino was the first one of at least half a dozen. I had already rebuilt it from a crash in 1980, I was heading home from school when a dumbass in a '69 Mustang decided to make a quick u-turn in front of me. I barely had time to hit the brakes before the front of my Torino caved in the driver's door and 1/4 panel, popped the trunk open, and sent the spare tire sailing into the wall of a nearby house, taking out a China cabinet in the process. I got a bill from the homeowners insurance company for over $10k to repair the damage. The other driver had no license, no insurance and the car was not his. What a shitshow that was. He was held fully responsible for the collision, my car was totaled, I had only had it for 2 months, so I bought it back from the insurance company and repaired it myself, then got the whole thing repainted and still had a few hundred bucks left.
Seems to me that the at fault driver, insurance or no insurance should pay the whole nut. A punk ran a stop sign t- boned my wife wrote off her car and his lucky for him no one was hurt. But he didn’t have a driver license or insurance or plates on the car. Autopac covered her costs and they went after him for the damages.did you fight that...The china cabinet thing. My 16 year old is learning to drive and always asks me....Why I slow down at an intersection...and thats why! ALWAYS A DUMB *** not paying attention running the stop or red light
