They'll be coming back next week to cut the stump then later once the frost is in the ground they'll grind the stump.
Slept in and I will let you know how I'm doing after my first cup of coffee. lolHow are ya Fred?
The guy and girl knew what they were doing. Not sure it they are married or in a relationship but the sure work well together. So must be single LOL. Yeah no more leaves to rake will be a bonus for sure. For a while anyway as we will be putting in a Japanese Maple in it's place. For sure a good bunch of guys here Mark.
Morning all another fogy day here in the freezer.
Looks like he did a good job cutting down your tree Mark now you don't have as many levees to rake in the fall.
I need to plant a tree or 2 in my back yard nothing but grass back there. The front yard is loaded with 11 fir trees and 4 big juniper trees and 2 crab apples. Ho and a apple tree. The guy and girl knew what they were doing. Not sure it they are married or in a relationship but the sure work well together. So must be single LOL. Sorry to here about loosing your parents that way and having lung cancer. Glad your still around to be apart of all us guys on this site and really enjoy all the conversations we all have.Good morning fellas! I hope everybody's doing well on a Saturday!
Mark, you've got quite a pile of Birch left. Is that sought after firewood?
Sounds like you guys had a serious discussion about the world's problems last night after I went snoozing. It seems any discussion of family history has to cross the lines of Cancer and Alzhiemers. Well you're not alone. Both my Mom and Dad had Cancer and suffered miserably. I developed small cell lung cancer in 2005 myself. Had surgery, chemo and radiation in 2006. And yes, although missing half (actually a little more than 1/3) of my right lung I'm still around to be a pain in the *** to those I love. Good at it too!
FOG, I am living proof that you've got a lot left too! We all do!
I, like you folks, am glad to have what family I have that still talks to me. Am blessed with a loving wife, and a few guys in cold places that listen to me complain alot. My poor wife is developing some early onset signs of ALZ so don't get upset at me if I disappear from time to time.
Anyways, just wanted to be sure you guys all realize that more than ancient technology automobiles seems to be why we're all drawn together here. It's a pleasure to know you guys too! Thanks for the company.

Morning Jeff....yeah Birch is a hardwood and burns quite hot. A friend of mine just suggested splitting it and wrap some red Ribbon around 3 sections at a time and take it to the local mall parking lot and sell them for 20 bucks a bundle because people want them for the fireplace as decoration for Xmas. I think I'm just going to seel for 200 bucks and be done with it. Getting too old for that kind of sh*t. LOLGood morning fellas! I hope everybody's doing well on a Saturday!

Sorry to hear about your wife Jeff, it is a terrible disease for all the family to have to go through. Hope they can delay the onset as long as possible. In Canada we have the Assisted Dying for people who are terminal or some other serious disease so they can depart before the suffering gets too bad. I'm sure there is a load of red tape to go through. Is that option available in the U.S.? Spend quality time with her and keep her comfortable. Even if you're not on here we'll all be thinking of you and will understand.
Ouch Jeff , that looks pain full , glad you are ok !!!Alright, wish me luck...

I'll bet it feels a lot different around there with that big tree removed. Especially next summer. Why did you remove it?View attachment 1715255996 View attachment 1715255997 View attachment 1715255998 View attachment 1715255999 View attachment 1715256000 View attachment 1715256001

Plus I noticed the older I get the longer it takes to heal !Thanks FOG, pretty stupid huh!
Some how I missed all of those new posts this morning. So sorry to hear about your wife Jeff. Oregon has assisted suicide. Maybe others. We have what we call Hospice. They help immensely. Dad and mom had good insurance so that helps but Hospice helps any one. Amazing people. They treat the whole family not just the patient. We all work together. Its never easy going through the dying process. Tempers can flare at times with family and nurses. No sir, that's not feasible here in the states. In some ways we're not that civilized. The frick'n govt doesn't think we're mature enough to make those decisions for ourselves I think. I couldn't even think of that in this scenario anyway! This girl has been better to me than I deserve and she's just stuck with my dumb ***! That's a worse penance anyway me thinks!
The plat people call it a slough. I'm not far from a river. I call it a pond. Beavers got it dammed up pretty good but it flows a little. Is that a pond or stream BF?
