Found 52 cents in the 1/4 panels a rubber band and a Budweiser beer tag. lol
I could't get my self to use any other car but Mopar for patch panels and couldn't find one I could cut up SOOO my old Maytag dryer lid was just the right thickness.
Don't tell on me guys. lol

Fred, I haven't seen one of those screw-in slap hammers in 30 years! I guess you wish you could say the same thing huh?

Are you cutting any of that out?

Damn Jeff don't do the 70* thing. lol
Would love the Duster hood for patch panels then I could hang the rest of the hood on my shop wall
But Maytag will do.
Sure is nice not being rushed on getting my car done I had fun today.

I still have a slide hammer with a screw on the end but never use it anymore.
Front part of the left 1/4 is just about ready for mud, rear lower 1/4s are cut out and will weld new panels in as soon as I get them sand blasted. My sand blaster took a dump so will get another one tomorrow I hope.

The picture of the door and 1/4 I welded in the worm holes and welded the 1/4 edge so not much bondo because I don't like bondo on an edge. Not That It's perfect I am not the best body man or painter I just do what I can. Call me half assed . lol

That would be extremely difficult to repair without some filler. Do a bunch of welding and pulling and end up with filler anyway. Sometimes I weld the slide hammer screw to the panel instead of poking holes. Actually its a bolt. You can pull a lot harder and sometimes end up with a bigger hole too. ha ha

That's a good idea. I have a Dent Dowg at work but not mine so I do what I can at home.
I made lots of holes with a Dent Dowg or welding a piece of metal on a panel with a Moe clamp and the old power post.
Was welding a 1/4 panel on a car one day and the gas cap blew off but nothing happened after that but scared the crap out of me. Surprised were still alive BP after all the chemical and dust.

Ya gotta love welding text to filler holes. I got a stack of aluminum licence plates for covering stuff up.
When Ford came out with their hi pressure plastic fuel lines, one of the guys melted one and we had a pretty good inferno going. My dad was a volunteer firefighter and told me you have to get the base of the fire out first. I sprayed the floor and worked my way up. Then we stood there in disbelief as the fire was out and the raw gas was still pouring on the floor.

LOL good one BP. I did my fare share of burning interiors.

Yessir, when you're involved in any aviation related operations onboard a Navy ship you must attend firefighting school before any deployments. You learn a lot but it really scares the crap out of you! Jet fuel is kerosene actually and when there is an accident it gets really ugly fast.

Damn Jeff ok I will redo that comment you saw my bad metal work. Call me a butcher. lol

Ya boats and fire are always a bad idea. I cant believe the lack of safety we had on that crab boat I worked on in Bering Sea. Running a cutting torch without a spotter. Hell, I don't even know if we had a fire extinguisher. Man I did some stupid **** on that boat. Barely 18 years old.

My grand father had a 30' boat in West Port Washington and was out there commercial fishing a few years with him. The water there was bad enough. The Bering Sea can be real nasty.

This boat was 350 feet long. It was an old military transport boat converted to a floating crab processing boat. Saw some big waves for sure. Broke an anchor once. We were spinning in circles and came close to hitting land. Lots of stories to tell when we meet some day Fred.

Made my Barracuda patches out of a 1970 chevy boxside by the way. Cheated a little there. Had a good shape to it. Think I added some ford explorer to it too. Ha ha

Oh the quest for the eternal, or infernal, dollar.

I would imagine that you guys were 10 feet tall and bulletproof working those waters

Young, dumb and full of cum

And many more less pc sayings I remember.

I did not!

And truthfully, I am looking forward to seeing your work so that I will have a goal!

I'm a rookie!
Far from a rookie Jeff I am impressed with your work.
Not sure if you guys want me to keep posting my work I am not trying to brag at all just want to share my day with my friends.

Love the pics Fred. Id post more but my camera lens is junk. I need one of those fancy Iphone thingys.
